Meet Manny

Born in the Cape Verde Islands, Manny Silva immigrated to the United States in 1961 at the age of six. After growing up in New Bedford and Rhode Island, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Barrington College and a Master's Degree from Illinois State University.

Manny has built a diverse career spanning education, IT management, and community service. He served as IT Manager at several organizations, completing a 33-year career in technology. Currently, he works as a paraeducator at Joseph Case High School in Swansea and serves as a pastor at a Christian church in Fall River.

A Somerset resident since 2007, Manny has been married to Monica since 2000 and is a proud father of three. His passion for justice for the oppressed and his extensive experience in health, education, and management have prepared him to fight for the people of Massachusetts on Beacon Hill.

Why I'm Running

For too long, the politicians at Beacon Hill have been serving themselves far more than serving the citizens and legal residents of Massachusetts. They have been taking advantage of us by creating "solutions", and when those solutions become problems, they propose "fixing" the problems with more taxation. This destructive cycle needs to be stopped.

These politicians know exactly what they are doing to us, and they don't care. The epitome of their arrogance was fully demonstrated shortly after last November's elections. They defied the will of the people after they overwhelmingly voted into law the mandate to audit the state legislator. And Senator Michael Rodrigues is guilty of that arrogance, and it is clear he does not want us to see what he and his fellow political hacks are spending your hard-earned money on.

This is why I am running for State Senator, to offer integrity, honesty, and a spirit of working FOR the people, and not for personal gain or the furthering of a bureaucratic agenda.
